Repair Your Smile with Dentures | Carol Stream Dentures

At Sunshine Family Dental, we take pride in offering top-tier removable dentures to both new and returning patients who have suffered from tooth loss. Our custom-crafted dentures are meticulously designed to fit each patient’s mouth and unique tooth replacement requirements, ensuring both aesthetic appeal and functional performance.

Crafting the perfect denture involves a series of precise steps. We begin by taking impressions of the patient’s jaw, teeth, and gums, along with detailed measurements. These impressions guide the creation of a custom model, which is then carefully tested and adjusted to achieve the ideal color, shape, and fit for the patient. Once the model meets our exacting standards, it is sent to our trusted dental lab for the fabrication of the permanent denture. Upon completion, the patient receives their permanent denture, with any necessary minor adjustments made to guarantee comfort and optimal fit.

Our practice offers two primary types of dentures to address varying degrees of tooth loss:

  1. Conventional Full Dentures: Ideal for patients requiring replacement of all upper and/or lower teeth, conventional full dentures are crafted once the gums have fully healed from any extractions. Impressions and measurements are taken to create a custom model, which is then adjusted and sent to the lab for fabrication. Our team ensures a secure and comfortable fit, making any necessary adjustments during fittings.
  2. Partial Dentures (Dental Bridges): Also referred to as dental bridges, partial dentures are an excellent solution for replacing one or more missing teeth. In addition to enhancing aesthetics, bridges help prevent teeth from shifting or rotating into empty spaces caused by tooth loss. Using a standard bridge technique, we place crowns on surrounding teeth and attach replacement teeth, meticulously matching them to the patient’s natural teeth for a seamless smile.

Regardless of the type of denture, regular follow-up appointments are essential. Over time, adjustments may be needed to maintain proper fit and comfort. Patients should adhere to a routine cleaning regimen using a soft-bristle toothbrush and non-abrasive cleanser to prevent plaque buildup. Dentures typically require replacement every 5-10 years, and our experienced team can assess whether dentures need refitting or replacement.
